OP-uns

As a long-standing social sec of the OPIG research group, the key part of the job is to ensure that the event name includes some kind of pun around OPIG (and then maybe organise something). Notable ones include OPIGmas, the annual Christmas party that I am neglecting to organise at the moment, and O’Punting, our annual punting trip. For the next generation of social secs, I have proposed some new activities with even worse names.

  1. OPIG-nic: Our annual picnic in South Parks, perfect for a day of sun, food, and laughs.
  2. OPIGstacle Course: A team-building exercise to help integrate new recruits with fun challenges.
  3. OPIG & Chill: A laid-back movie night after a long week—bonus points if we watch Shrek!
  4. Kara-OPIG: An evening of karaoke where we find out who can (and can’t) hit the high notes.
  5. OPIG-luck: A potluck event with a twist: dishes must be pig or pink-themed.
  6. OPIG-ami Night: Fold and create shapes and patterns, perhaps even your favorite protein structure.
  7. Bing-OPIG: A quiet night in, perfect for the really old (>30 years old) OPIG members.
  8. Tour de Voi-PIG: An updated take on the classic Tour de Farce, featuring Voi scooter rentals.
  9. Hackath-OPIG: Bring OPIGlets together to solve a challenging coding problem in a friendly competition.
  10. Impr-OPIG Night: Discover the funniest OPIGlet as everyone tries their hand at stand-up comedy.

Now, OPIG can go on even more social events with each other and spend even more time with each other!! Woohoo!
