One year on and the latest variant of SARS-CoV-2 spreading like wildfire, and OPIG found itself meeting virtually, again…
Perhaps the highlight of OPIGmas is the Secret Santa gift exchange (although some might beg to differ: in meat-space “beer” pong might compete for pole position). Alas, no crypto-currency was gifted this year…
…but there was the first OPIG NFT, for its Pig-based logo, available on OpenSea. Another virtual gift was the sponsorship of Princess the Pig. Carlos’s Nobel-Prizer-Winner-approved Blopig post was honored with a mug showing the stunning relative performance of the winning method–or was it a graph of his blog-post’s unique visits?
Another animal-themed gift, this time for Steph, was the adoption of a brown, Worcestershire hare. Matt received hair product, allegedly making Garrett jealous. Pass the Pig (“great game”—Dwayne the Rock Johnson) was also awarded to Matt (sorry, “Getting Drunk (without my Parents)”). Tom received another mug, this time badminton-themed. Dr Fergus Boyles, a.k.a. “The Lig” & Dr N.C., received a plush, sad, blue octopus—which is really a happy, pink one inside. Tobias received a calendar of Great Danes, while Broncio was given Spotify credits.
Charlotte was granted a box of delicious chocolate money, while Garrett received an out-of-office sign (thanks, Matt: so kind).
This year’s OPIGmas, once again forced into the virtual realm thanks to a raging contagious virus, was nonetheless an absolute delight.
